Crows Nest Soft Drinks

Crows Nest Soft Drinks is an iconic local business, 117 years in the making. They are well known for fantastic flavours and an old-fashioned work ethic, and have survived many tough times before. It is great to be able to promote fantastic local businesses like Crows Nest Soft Drinks - please get behind our local businesses during this time and support local jobs.

Hampton's Emeraude

I would like to encourage everyone to support their local food and hospitality industries as much as possible. Many local businesses - just like Emeraude at Hampton - have made innovative changes to their operations. Why not make the most of our beautiful autumn weather, order a takeaway coffee or treat, and support a local business at the same time.

SPAR and Newsagency serving Goombungee

It's great to see the locals supporting the new small business owners of the Goombungee SPAR and Newsagency who in turn are doing a wonderful job serving the local community.

We can all do our best to play our role in stimulating the economy and creating local support during these difficult times.

Please support your local during COVID-19.

A shout out today for another great Condamine business - the Meringandan Hotel! Like so many other businesses they are doing their best under trying circumstances, and the bottlo is absolutely open for business! As we head in to the long weekend with a little more freedom, please support your local in any way you can.

Oakey Beef - Rising to the challenges of COVID-19

I am so proud to see many great businesses, such as Oakey Beef, rise to the challenges presented by the current COVID 19 pandemic restrictions. We are all doing our bit to stop the spread and the staff and management at Oakey Beef have been operating at the highest levels of care. I would love to hear how other businesses are coping out there - what changes and challenges have you met with and overcome?

"I rely on people like Pat Weir" Tim Mander, Deputy Opposition Leader

"It's important that I've got perspective beyond the city, that's why I rely on people like Pat Weir... Pat's lived in the Condamine all his life. He tells me (as Shadow Treasurer) the things that are really concerning people living in regional Queensland, and also those in the Agricultural sector." Tim Mander, Deputy Opposition Leader

"It's great to have someone who knows our needs"

"I've known Pat for a number of years... we always need a voice in the country that go back to our politicians in the city, and give us a voice out in the bush" Andrew Johnston, Dalby Rural Supplies

Small Business in the Condamine

Small businesses are the lifeblood of small communities. We need to do everything we can to lower the costs, and grow the opportunities which will allow small business to thrive. As your Member for Condamine I will work to enhance small businesses and make life better for the families who run them.

Clifton Quad Bar

Dave Robertson from Quadbar in Clifton is another example of a small business in Condamine providing opportunities and employment to local people as well as being innovative in its design of safety equipment for quad bikes right across the agricultural sector. Go to www.quadbar.com.au to find out more about the features of Dave's safety equipment for quad bikes.

Pat Weir at Ashtons Butchery

Small businesses are thriving in the Condamine electorate including Ashton's Butchery - Pittsworth and Dalby. I visited Ashton's in Pittsworth recently and I was impressed with the quality of the produce for sale and the progressiveness of this locally owned and operated business.

Pat Weir with Eureka Stud

Eureka Stud at Cambooya, Queensland, Australia is run by 3rd and 4th generations of the McAlpine family and is one of the leading thoroughbred studs in Queensland. The thoroughbred industry provides many opportunities for local jobs and I am pleased to see businesses like Eureka Stud thriving and prospering in the Condamine electorate.

Young families need our support

"Our future depends on young families, and that's why I intend to be part of a team that will put downward pressure on cost of living expenses like car registration and electricity."

Airport freight and Agriculture

The importance of agriculture to the Queensland economy cannot be understated, it is a diverse and vibrant industry to be in and my electorate of Condamine is in the very heart of some of the most valuable and rich farming land in Australia. The capacity to transport fresh food and produce directly to the end user from the new Freight Terminal at Wellcamp will develop new markets for our local producers, and ensure we maintain our reputation for providing clean, green fresh food to the world.

Pat with Dalby Business

Pat has spent time with various business owners in the Dalby community (such as White Industries and Dalby Rural Supplies) to talk about business opportunities for locals and the wider community.
